Early Childhood Education - 60 credits
The Early Childhood Education(ECHE) Associate Program also encompasses the Child Development Associate (CDA) Training Program. This Program includes academic and methods classes, as well as field experience. The Head Start classrooms and licensed registered child care facilities serve as lab sites. The courses are designed to provide an opportunities for employment in a child care setting or training in Early Childhood Care, with the least amount of the time off work. The student completes the CDA program and will be eligible to apply for their CDA certification. A student completing the Early Childhood Education program will receive an associate degree. Each student who successfully completes both the ECHE and CDA programs will be qualified for employment in the Head Start Program or as a Teacher's Aide in the elementary school system. The student will also be qualified to become self-employed as a Day Care Home Provider or as a staff member of a child care center.
