Web Page Evaluation Assignment

Find a webpage on a current topic in a subject area related to your major.
Provide short answers to each of the following questions in relation to the webpage you have selected. (Give examples)
Due at end of class period.

Accuracy:
Are there factual errors on the page?
Are there misspellings on the page?
Are there grammatical errors on the page?
Are sources cited and has the author provided a complete or partial list of works cited?

Authority:
Who wrote the document and what is their expertise in the field?
Has the author provided their educational and work experience?
Has the author provided a way to contact them?
What is the domain of the document?
What institution, organization, individual, etc., publishes this document?

Objectivity:
What is the purpose of the document?
Who paid for it to be produced?
What opinions (if any) are expressed by the author and how do you know they are opinions?

Currency:
When was the document produced?
When was it last updated?
Are the links updated or are there many broken links?
Is the information on the page outdated?

Coverage:
What is the scope of what the page intends to cover?
Does the page succeed in addressing the topic or are significant areas left out?
Is it clear what audience the page intends to address?
Is the information written at the level you require or is it written above/below your requirements?
Is the page complete or still under construction?
